Tuli Wilderness offers a wonderful natural location to awaken the explorer in you and to enjoy an authentic wilderness experience reminiscent of Africa a century ago. Situated on an exclusive concession in the vast Northern Tuli Game Reserve in eastern Botswana, Tuli Wilderness is owner-managed by Stuart and Julie Quinn, who have a wealth of experience in the southern African wildlife tourism, hospitality and training industry.

I'm quite certain, this leopard is not a, "twisted individual", but rather, the far more likely scenario is that this is a young leopard, between 12, and 18 months old, that has not, yet, left its mother's care, to strike out on its own. Although, nearing the age, where independence will be necessary, it is probably still living within its mother's territory, and surviving off of the prey, delivered from her hunts. Its mother is, likely, away, in an effort to execute a hunt of her own, at this very moment, and while awaiting her return, chances are, this young leopard has been met with an unexpected, yet irresistible opportunity. As result of still being a very inexperienced hunter that hasn't yet honed its skills, it has, most likely, never killed, on its own, before. It is lacking in confidence, and uncertain of how to facilitate the most advantageous approach. Being entirely independent, and hunting without its mother's support, still feels very foreign, and naturally, it is quite nervous about the many dangers that the situation potentially poses, as well as the possibility of other predators lurking nearby, and being enticed by the sounds, sights, or smells of the hunt. The behavior we're observing, which, seemingly, resembles the leopard, playing with its food, is more likely, just a manifestation of its caution, and uncertainty, getting the best of it, combined with an underlying attempt to extend the process, at hand, in hopes that its mother might happen to return to her territory, upon catching wind of the commotion, and thus, be able to, either, take over, in executing, and finalizing the kill, or, at least, assist, greatly, in the process, by providing moral support and guidance, that will help to better shape the youngster's independent, hunting capabilities, and generate an increase in confidence levels. Scenes, like the one, depicted throughout this footage, are actually rather common to witness, amongst young leopards, that are, either, just on the verge of gaining their independence, or have newly set out on their own. If this is, indeed, this leopard's very first hunt, and kill, to be executed, entirely independently, then it will serve as a monumental turning point, that holds immense, experiential value; working to hone the precise, risk taking, and strategizing skills, associated with hunting, fuel its confidence, and shape it into a well adapted, and successful predator.💛🐆🖤
